Professional Approach -- Our approach to guiding clients on whether or not to file for bankruptcy is analyzing the numbers and recommending that you treat this as a business decision. We do not engage in any moral guidance on whether or not Bankruptcy is right. We believe that the credit industry is doing quite well and continue to positively position themselves financially at your expense. Furthermore, we have no sympathy for banks and lenders who loan money at ridiculous interest rates and one-sided terms.
Free Initial Consultation - You will have a free initial consultation with bankruptcy attorney Orfelia Mayor. At the meeting, your personal financial situation will be discussed and analyzed to see if bankruptcy is the right debt relief option for you. We will talk about how bankruptcy works with focus on the differences between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. Additionally, we will discuss the various advantages, disadvantages, and cost associated with all the debt relief options. As stated above, our analysis will focus on whether this is a proper business decision for you.
Up Front and Reasonable Prices -- We believe that the legal cost of bankruptcy should be affordable and available to anyone who needs the relief from creditors. Therefore, all the fees associated with a bankruptcy are discussed up front and flexible payment plans are available with as little as $50.00 down.
Chapter 7 -- To file a bankruptcy, you must pay the legal fees, court filing fee ($299) and administrative costs of $150.00. These fees must be paid in full prior to filing. However, potential clients are allowed to formulate a payment plan that works for them prior to filing. You will also have to pay for the mandatory credit counseling course prior to filing. This course should cost approximately $30.00 and is paid to the agency that provides the counseling.
Chapter 13 -- A Chapter 13 case is more complex and will normally have higher legal fees overall. However, a good portion of those fees are incorporated into your payment plan and are paid from your monthly payment to the trustee. This means that your case doesn't have to be paid in full before filing. In addition to legal fees, you must pay the court filing fee of $274 and administrative costs of $150 (this covers the cost of your credit reports, postage, copying, etc). As with Chapter 7, potential clients are allowed to formulate a payment plan that works for them with as little as $50.00 down. You will also have to pay for the mandatory credit counseling course prior to filing. This course should cost approximately $30.00 and is paid to the agency that provides the counseling.
Personalized service by an attorney - This firm is committed to providing excellent legal services to each and every client. You will not be shuffled between secretaries and legal assistants like other bankruptcy law firms. Our office maintains a call back policy that commits to returning your telephone call or responding to your emails within the same day. If you call our office and no one is available, then someone from our office will call you back within two hours (during normal business hours). This availability is ensured by limiting our case load and not taking on more cases than can be serviced with excellence. You are already under enough stress from bill collectors - so we have convenient evening and weekend hours available. Contact our office for more details. We are located 5-10 minutes north of Pembroke Pines, Hollywood and Miramar, off University Drive and Griffin Road.
